This summer’s June gloom just ended and with the sunny weather in full swing, I’m ready to schedule as many outdoor brunches as possible. Southern California has so many incredible brunch options and it’s such a fun way to connect with friends and family.

I love how brunch outfits tend to be cool and breezy yet casual and chic at the same time! It’s one of my favorite occasions to dress for. As a long-time brunch enthusiast, I get so excited to share summer brunch outfits and am rounding up the top 5 trendy summer brunch outfits of this year so you can effortlessly style yourself in flattering outfit ideas perfect for breakfast and lunch dates all summer long.
Mykonos Blue Dress
This shade of blue reminiscent of Grecian beaches is so popular this summer and stunning on all skin tones. A dress in this shade is such a beautiful statement, perfect for a romantic brunch date. To pull off the Mediterranean-chic look, grab a pair of minimalistic gold earrings, a gold chain bracelet (the smaller the better to not take away from the dress), and nude heels. Small pops of gold will add an eye-catching detail and provide balance to the outfit. I love these nude heels to elongate legs and it’s so fun to try the braided shoe trend with the lace-up ankle detail. I get so many compliments on these when I wear them out!

A straw bag completes the look and doubles as a beach bag to soak up the sun after brunch. I would wear this outfit to brunch at my favorite Sardinian speakeasy in downtown San Diego. PS – this dress is so stretchy and comes in handy after a big brunch. The fit is true to size, but size up if you plan on drying it. Linking similar blue mini dresses for your date outfits too!
Biker Shorts & Oversized White Shirt
This is my favorite outfit I own – just getting that out there.
A casual biker shorts outfit elevated with gold accessories is the look of 2021 for good reason! It’s incredibly comfortable and easy to pull off with various body types. I would wear this look all summer to a brunch date with girlfriends or a middle-of-the-week brunch with a more casual vibe.

The oversized white shirt can also double as a shirt dress – FYI. Highly recommend it for a capsule wardrobe collection. Complete the off-duty model look with mini gold hoops, a layered gold chain necklace, a square leather handbag & cat-eye sunglasses. Black strappy kitten heels and white sneakers both go amazing with this summer brunch outfit.
Hot tip – if you’re curvy like me, using accessories with sharp lines like the square handbag and triangular shape of the cat-eye sunglasses are key to balance the look. The white top will add volume (in a good way!) for the causal effect, so balancing the extra fabric of the shirt with sharp-looking accessories will give it SO much harmony.
Textured Cardigan & Bermuda Denim Shorts
The ultimate Sunday brunch outfit for summer and even an early fall brunch is definitely this look! Bermuda denim shorts are on-trend and can easily be dressed up for brunch with the right top and accessories. Spice up your brunch outfits by pairing a Chanel-inspired textured cardigan with bermuda shorts and bring it into 2021 with black strappy kitten heels, oval gold hoop earrings, and a black hobo bag to match the heels!
This cardigan is so flattering and easy to transition throughout seasons by wearing a camisole underneath for layering. Going to a beachside brunch? Or maybe like my hometown, it’s in the 100’s where you’re located and need to dress for the extra hot weather. This matching set has breathable fabric while hitting all the marks of a trendy summer brunch outfit.
Midi skirts are out this year and it’s all about the mini skirts! This is a great way to try the trend and it easily pairs with this stunning matching top. Matching sets are such a vibe this year because they take the guesswork out of your outfit. Love that for us.

If you’re heading to a meeting brunch or an indoor brunch, this outfit is fool proof and so on trend! This suit is perfect for summer by swapping out heavier fabrics for linen and the white fabric adds a light and airy vibe. It also transitions into a fall brunch outfit effortlessly! Trench coats are out this year and instead, swap them for an oversized linen blazer.
This outfit works so well because the trousers have a drawstring bow at the waist to accentuate your curves + the crop top will show the smallest amount of mid-drift to balance out the heaviness of the oversized blazer.
