Wedding Updates

I’m so excited to share some wedding updates with you all! Who knew planning a wedding in 2020 would be so challenging?! Thankfully, we haven’t had to reschedule anything and my heart goes out to all the 2020 brides that had to plan their big day a second time.

While so many aspects of planning a wedding right now are up in the air, I’m ecstatic to work on the things we can control. Hopefully, it will be safe to travel next year and I can start planning my bachelorette and honeymoon!

Wedding Updates

Location

My lovely wedding planner Claudia from Hoste Events and I have been working together to pick out a venue and decided we are definitely booking in San Diego! Tim and I seriously considered getting married in Napa, since some of our family is in Northern California. It’s hard to say no to the gorgeous venues in San Diego though. We both love the idea of saying ‘I do’ with an ocean sunset nearby :).

Here are some of the wedding venues we are seriously considering!

 La Valencia Hotel

Here’s the wedding venue on the property:

so dreamy!

How dreamy is the hotel though?

What do you think? We’re also thinking about here too!

L’Auberge Del Mar
Wedding Updates
stunning right?

This hotel has a French countryside feel but is so close to the water in the heart of Del Mar. I love the idea of getting married at a hotel so our guests have an easy time getting to and from!

We’re also looking at a golf course in Torrey Pines, but haven’t toured the venues yet, so that may be an option too!

Save the Dates

We’ve been looking at all sorts of save the date and invitation options, and honestly, it can get pretty overwhelming! We’ve been loving the Basic Invite website & have been using the free printable wedding planner as a guide to keep us productive.

Wedding Updates 2020
this was so fun!

All this downtime might as well be spent planning the little details, you know? Basic Invite has a free custom sample kit for save the dates, so we were able to upload our engagement photos, & personalize the text. Seeing it in person made it feel so real! We’re still deciding on the design, paper and of course, the date!

I also like the acrylic look of this style too!

Basic Invite also has awesome invitation options for a bunch of different occasions & they were kind enough to sponsor this post! Our readers can use the coupon code 15FF51 for 15% off. Check out some of their birthday party invitations (so cute!).

You can really get creative designing your own invitations on the Basic Invite website! Once you select a design, you can change the color of each element on the card. They also offer a free printed sample of the actual invitation before you buy! LOVE that! Here’s their Instagram to stalk – @basicinvite

Bridal Party Colors

This one was actually the first decision we made! We’re hoping to get married next Fall, so I wanted to incorporate the season into our colors, but still keep it feminine. We’re going with a mix of rose pinks and mauves similar to the ones below! I found these from Birdy Grey.

Engagement Pictures

We took our first round of engagement photos earlier this year with Arielle! I LOVE how they turned out! You guys know we are extra and planned more than one shoot 🥂

Before COVID, we were planning on taking the second round of engagement photos in the Antelope Canyon red rock caves in Arizona. Instead, we’re planning on going up to Yosemite sometime later this year for a sunset shoot by half dome. I saw this blogger do it and fell in love with the shots!

Here are some photos from our beach shoot!
