If you’ve followed me for a while, you might know about my journey with trying to achieve healthy hair. I have hypothyroidism, which makes it SO tough to grow thick, luscious hair. I tried clip-in and tape-in extensions for years, and OMG it was fun! However, they really damage your hair! The last time I took my tape-ins out, almost 50% of my hair was ripped out in the process. So long, waist-length locks. I was on a mission to get my hair as healthy as possible—naturally.
Fast forward a year, and my hair is finally growing back! It’s almost to the length I’ve been trying for—YAY! It was a trial and error process of supplementation, new thyroid meds, and avoiding the heat. I, of course, couldn’t use any type of extensions either!
I’m really excited to get to my “goal” hair length (maybe 4 months away?), and I want to enjoy styling it a little more often—especially after quarantining! While I’ve been staying inside, I did a ton of research on how to maintain healthy hair while I’m away from my hair salon, as well as some fun styling ideas with minimal heat exposure.
