6 Easy Jeans Alternative For Summer

August in San Diego is typically the hottest it gets all year and the humidity gets up to 85% some days! It’s intense (if you’re from the West Coast hehe) and being extra mindful of the fabrics & cuts of outfits help you feel cool and comfortable all day. Finding the perfect jeans alternative for summer is key!

There are lots of ways to accomplish the easy-breezy wardrobe aesthetic and the first step is to ditch the jeans! There are plenty of looser and more forgiving alternatives to jeans we can wear during summer! Nobody wants to feel sticky and gross in a thick outfit so I’m sharing a roundup of jeans alternatives that are a little less stiff but just as fashionable as those versatile denim jeans.

Easy & Breezy Jeans Alternatives For Summer!

1. Jumpsuits that Transition into Fall

Loose-fitting jumpsuits with wide legs and spaghetti straps will be your best friend. This is a great option if you want more coverage without overheating!

Look for linen, cotton, and satin jumpsuits while shopping! This sage green number from Express is satin & so easy to style! Style this cutie with nude heels and a neutral structured bag + minimal gold jewelryThis jumpsuit also comes in a wine color and black.

2. High Waisted Paperbag Shorts

Paperbag shorts are having a major moment this summer and that trend will continue through early fall. The waistline is so flattering and helps to give an hourglass shape. I love these because they have a cool “structured” look that pairs so well with a bodysuit. Style these paper bag shorts with a one-shoulder black bodysuit, gold necklace, and a black quilted bag.

PS the bodysuit I wear with these comes in seven different colors (white, black, espresso, pecan, blush, sage green + emerald green) and has a REALLY amazing body contour built into the fabric. Super flattering and worth getting more than one.

3. Cotton Midi Skirts

I’m so obsessed with this cotton midi skirt for the length, fabric, and ability to transition into a fall outfit effortlessly!

During the summer months, this skirt is great for beating the heat and looks incredible with a neutral cami, mini handbag & sandals.

When it gets colder I cannot wait to wear this skirt with cowboy boots & a long sleeve-square neck bodysuit.

4. Floral Maxi Skirts

Always a classic! This skirt comes in three colors (black, blue, and a peachy-pink) all so cute. The black one lends well to a capsule wardrobe and is easy to style for Fall layering too! I did buy the blue one though haha!

This alternative to jeans is perfect with a crop top and sandals + minimal gold jewelry. A southern California wardrobe uniform, really.

5. High Waisted Linen Trousers

I know I talk about these a lot & it’s because they are that good! These high-waisted linen trousers have a lightweight fabric to beat the heat and humidity + they look so bomb on! These are a must if you work in a corporate setting and need a pair of pants to look cute with a blazer at work and fire with a crop top when you’re OOO.

I wear these pants with nude heels, a taupe crop top, and a white linen blazer with minimal gold jewelry as always.

Another must-have! These jogger pants are a mix between trousers and sweatpants – so perfect for running errands, lunch dates & even the office if you add the right pieces.  Styling these jogger pants is SO EASY! Grab a tee or a bodysuit & you’re set!

For a casual vibe, wear with sneakers & a baseball cap.
